Welcome to the Wisdom Café, brought to you by the Talent and Organizational Performance (TOP) team, under the auspices of Human Resources and Office of the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance.
The Wisdom Café is a new learning tool that will give you access to knowledge across campus that is current, relevant, continuous and engaging. One of our goals is to have you think about the Wisdom Café for accessing learning resources before you go to Google. We know that Google is pretty smart but it isn’t able to take advantage of the collective wisdom of our amazing staff community.
The Wisdom Café is intended to emulate the great conversations that take place in the many wonderful cafes surrounding us. As you tour the café, you will see great content to support your own professional development being shared in the form of career stories, blogs, and videos and articles that have touched colleagues in some significant way. However, that is just the start of the conversation. To make it really robust (and outsmart Google), as you learn, you are encouraged to share. You can comment on a blog, suggest an article, ask a perplexing question or share a great work tip with fellow staff members. We hope that you become a frequent visitor to the site and take advantage of the many resources, which will be updated regularly by both the TOP team and the learning community.
Many people have contributed to this site but special kudos go out to Inette Dishler, Sr. Talent and Organizational Consultant, who spent many months overseeing the design and rollout of this site.
Please enjoy your time in our café and we look forward to welcoming you back on many occasions. Please send us feedback with any early thoughts and suggestions.
