Register for any of the four workshops through the UC Learning Center on Blu by searching for the workshop title or using the code in parentheses. I can facilitate registration for anyone who doesn’t have access to a work computer.

1. Get Global Ready: Thriving in an Intercultural Workplace (BECOE500-20160927)
Tuesday, September 27, 1:30 – 4:30 pm I-House Home Room (offered again on December 7)
Learn how to collaborate better with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Gain a greater understanding of your own intercultural work style (with a complimentary assessment called GlobeSmart*, normally $20), learn about other work styles and how to adapt your behavior for more effective interactions.
2. Managing Conflict Across Cultures (BECOE502-20161025)
Tuesday, October 25, 2:00 – 4:30 pm, I-House Home Room
Take a complimentary Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory* and explore your results with campus colleagues. This workshop will investigate ways of approaching conflict that vary across cultures, discuss strategies for how to work with those styles, and practice approaches for resolving differences with people who approach conflicts differently.
3. Supporting Students From China at UC Berkeley (BECOE501-20161129)
Tuesday, November 29, 2:00 – 4:30 pm, I-House Home Room
Discover some of the unique experiences Chinese students face, from their perspective; improve your ability to help Chinese students better adapt to academic life on our campus; and learn to interact with students from China in ways that help them feel included and understood, ultimately facilitating their success at Cal.

Breidi Truscott Roberts, M.A., is an Intercultural Training Specialist for the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership (CIL) at International House Berkeley. While regularly conducting workshops for I-House and UC Berkeley staff, she believes participants can positively transform themselves, their relationships and the world. She also serves as a Diversity Facilitator for the Multicultural Education Program at UCB through the division of Equity and Inclusion. In charge of Mentoring, breidi has served as a Board Member for the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR), as well as a Fellow at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Education (SIIC). Breidi received a Masters of Arts in Intercultural Relations from the School for International Training and studied Communication and Linguistics as an undergraduate at UC San Diego. When not working or volunteering, breidi loves to spend her time hiking in new places- she has lived in Ireland, Italy, Mexico, India, and New Zealand.
